The building itself is fairly large light blue concrete walls with a dark blue support framing, with one dark blue metal front door and several windows all around, surrounded by chain link fence with a large hole in the side by the entryway. You also see a sign on the front with pictures of water & a lightning bolt, as well as electrical wires originating from behind the building.

*BACKSIDE*
You see what resembles a LARGE old fashioned electrical substation surrounded by more chain link fence covere in WARNING signs, and four major power poles with cables flowing out to the nearest poles that THEN travel to all the major districts. Anyone with electrical background can recognize the circuit switchers, regulators, reclosers, and a few control buildings with heavy cables running to one and between the others.
*CONTROL BUILDINGS*
The first control building is wall to wall machinery, nothing but on/off lights and on/off switches on every single panel. Some of the panels are open, and each one is full of machinery and wiring dedicate to moving electricity from itself to another area.
The second control building is surprisingly empty, the only thing in it being a series of open spaces with handlebars, and these handlebars are connected to a series of cables and circuitry, not unlike the first control building. Some of these cables appear to lead to massive battery units.

*INSIDE*
The building inside is surprisingly minimal, but a bit loud for your liking. In one corner is a small set of lockers with a small kitchenette, the other has a small desk and workstation with a red phone. But the majority of the room's space is taken up by a MASSIVE rounded metal casing, humming and grinding away as whatever is inside it (you assume) generates the power.
From around the backside steps a shorter hamster man in blue coveralls, a white hard hat, white rubber gloves, and a gold nametag reading KAELID. He spots your group and immediately rushes to push you out the door. "HEY HEY HEY, YOU CAN'T BE IN HERE!"
*GIVE ANY RESPONSE*
He seems hesitant to listen. "Wait wait... you're not Marauders, are you?"
*SAY NO*
He stares at you for a few seconds. "I'm inclined to believe you since you didn't start breaking things immediately, but... net time, just have someone call in advance, okay? This place is important AND dangerous."
He sighs a bit. "But as long as you're here... what were you looking for anyways?"
*ANYTHING TO DO WITH A TOUR OR A CLOSER LOOK*
He blinks a few times. "You serious?"
*IF YES*
He thinks for a second. "You know... I'm not opposed, because I never get tour groups, but... you're gonna have to get geared up. Grab a hard hat, earplugs, and rubber gloves from the locker, I'll give you a closer look."
He leans in real close. "BUT DON'T... TOUCH... ANYTHING."
Once you are all sufficiently geared up, he takes you for a general look around the unit itself. There isn't much to see, until you spot the trap door near the back with a ladder inside.
*DOWN THE LADDER*
As you descend, you get a better llok at the inner workings thanks to the lights running down the inside of the massive hole.
Looking up, you see the motor half of a large rotor inside a stator, crackling and grinding as it gathers electricity.
You also see a MASSIVE metal rod leading from it straight down into a massive chain link floor panel, all surrounded by a square cage of chain link fence locked behind chain and padlock.
Beneath it, the chain link floor panel is digging into the rock, and you can see the centermost part of the massive turbine fan underneath it in the water, spinning surprisingly fast in the ocean current beneath it.
*IF THEY WANT TO LOOK FOR ANYTHING SPECIFIC*
(INVESTIGATE Roll) You spot a sparkling line of gold in the rock, only about an inch thick, and it runs in a massive ring all around the rock wall.
*WHAT IS IT*
KAELID looks at it for half a second. "Oh THAT? Not a clue, it's been here since before the generator was put in. Wouldn't recommend touching it with bare hands, shit burns hard. But gloves are fine." |
